Best Western Hotel upgrades RFID system

(RFIDWorld.ca) A hospitality security provider, VingCard, recently concluded a project at Best Western, installing its Classic RFID contactless electronic upgrade kit with NFC cell phone compatibility.  VingCard, a part of ASSA ABLOY Hospitality Group, has upgraded this service at the Best Western Hotel de la Paix in Reims, France.  The Best Western Hotel is located in the heart of the Champagne region in Reims and the region includes the Cathedral and Champagne Houses as well as the popular Tau Palace.  The hotel which has been recently renovated provides a great amount of amenities including steam room, indoor pool, eight meeting rooms, and amphitheatre, the Restaurant Café de la Paix as well as the Bar la Paix.

Antoine Renardias, general manager of the Best Western Hôtel de la Paix, said that their property has been a popular destination for years and a renovation provides a much higher level of luxury than before.  While he was happy with their current high security locks, they wanted to upgrade to the latest RFID technology.  With the new installation, the hotel was able to keep its current locks and only replace the card reader.  Renardias said the upgrade was “a smart and cost-effective choice.”

The Classic RFID system provides ultimate control and security that is matchless.  It has a 600 event audit trail and original anti-cloning software.

Christian Hénon, president of ASSA ABLOY Hospitality for the Europe/Middle East/Africa division, said that their company is pleased to work with such an established high-end hotel to provide them with top-of-the-line security.  He is confident that the new upgraded system will fit in well with the existing high standards of the hotel as well as increase guest satisfaction.

Additionally, the Classic lock system allows the Best Western Hotel to go “green” because the energy efficient locks require fewer battery changes compared to traditional electronic locks.   This not only results in less waste but additionally lowers battery costs.  The system also does not require any cleaning so less maintenance is needed which means even lower costs.

Classic RFID is a secure open-platform system that is compatible with the three leading RFID ISO standards (ISO 14443A/MiFare, ISO 14443B, ISO 15693).  It is also compatible with the new NFC transaction platform for cell phones.

VingCard Elsafe, a world leader in developing locking systems and in-room safes for the hospitality industry offers user-friendly RFID security systems that meet the needs of high-end hotels and resorts.
